We all impressed when Macbeth started to hallucinate and to see an imaginary dagger in front of him. While reading the book it couldn’t give the same taste of the movie but this video makes this scene more realistic and lunatic. It is more effective than the Polanski’s version because there is no visual effect that makes it more realistic and we are watching the action with the Macbeth’s eyes. The director created an environment that it seems there is a mirror and Macbeth looks it so we both see the action and the facial impressions of Macbeth. Moreover this video is like a theoretical play so the actor has to play his role more sensual than a movie because there is not such a thing like visual effects, so he has to give the idea with his gestures that is harder and more influential that the other. This video helps me to see the scene in a different way because in the movie I couldn’t get clearly the idea of imaginary dagger because I saw it but the character just can’t reach it. On the other hand in the video there is nothing that we can see. But he saw something and expressed it with a lunatic way, not a desperate way that we see in the movie.
As you said, in this video emotions are given really good. Sound effects are also makes it better. In additio, I saw Patrick Sewart in this acting first time and he played really well but his appearance in this role disapponited me :D. He is totally and totally far from the idea of Macbeth of mine.
ReplyDeleteThe scene looks perfectly constructed and details expressed so nicely with the help of great actor Patrick Stewart
