Dramatic irony

I want to talk about one of the tecniques Shakespeare used in Macbeth which is Dramatic irony. It is when the audience knows something and the characters in the play don't. Some information are only shared, by the writer, with the audince and as the play goes on as a watcher we have the chance to see everything from a different point of view. I found it interesting that Shakespeare would use this method because it makes me feel recognized by the writer and also feel more involved. One might argue that this method could limit the readers imagination because it leads you to a specific idea as you read the actual thought process of the character. But I think it is quite the opposite. By seeing even a small portion of one's inner feelings and thoughts, We see that just how complex the human psychology is and how sometimes things are not at all how it seems. With these additional information, the character becomes more real and more human.

  1. If I had to choose a side, I would rather stand by yours. That is because I like predicting all the possible endings while eliminating them one by one according to the behaviours and thoughts of the characters throughout the play.

In addition, the psychological states of the characters in Shakespeare's plays are well described. So, being informed about the things that is unknown for the characters help us to perceive the transition of the psychological states that
    the characters exposed.

At the end of the day one of the technique, also known as dramatic irony, among many that Shakespeare used increases the audience experience and the joy that they usually encounter.
