A Different Version Of Dagger Scene

A Different Version Of Dagger Scene

Hi, my friends! I would like to share my thoughts about the video clip I have watched recently which exhibits the dagger scene of Macbeth play as a different version compared to the dagger scene we watched together in class. I will analyze and compare some points which makes the dagger scene more and less effective.
Firstly, I want to indicate that the version I have shared as a link has some weaknesses to display the scene. One of the reasons that makes me think in that way is the appearance of the man who plays in the role of Macbeth. In the video we watched in the lecture, Macbeth seemed younger and his clothes were the ones that shows him as a noble man sufficiently. However; in this video, the clothes of the man does not seem very attractive and the man himself also does not look that noble so as a spectator I did not find the appearance of Macbeth so effective.
Secondly, in the video we watched together, the setting of the scene really looks like a castle that is owned by Machbeth. On the other hand, in this video there is not any trace of a view from the place Macbeth speaks. An ambigious and gloomy atmosphere is seen continuously but the spectator can not get a hint about the place Macbeth is found at that time. Only in the final seconds, the man passes through a door but it is not very efficient too represent the setting.
Thirdly and maybe the most important difference between the two video is that the man in the video we watched is more active with his movements and a dagger is embodied in the scene which in fact Macbeth sees in his mind. However; in this video I shared the man continuosly looks to the camera and does not move anywhere while he is speaking. Also, the lack of the embodied dagger in this video makes this video less efficient to watch because the spectator can really see and feel what Macbeth sees and talks about in the video we watched wtih the moving embodied dagger.
These are some points that makes the video I found less efficient. On the other hand, the video in the link has one advantage that has to be mentioned. The atmosphere of the video is gloomy  and the only focus in the scene is the man who plays for Macbeth. Plus, the man has a better voice tone than the man in the other video so the spectator has a more efficient way to listen to the man more carefully and this important soliloquy of Macbeth becomes more attractive fro the perspective of the spectator and it is understood more efficiently in this video.
These are some points that I wanted to discuss and analyze as the differences between two videos. Thank you for spending your time with this post.
