Weird sisters are real ?

Maybe the most interesting thing I've encountered so far when I was reading surprising facts about Macbeth is the conspiracy theory which states that ''The Weird Sisters'' in The Macbeth are real and they possess real supernatural powers. Majority of people who believe that witchcraft is real is highly superstitious against the play because they think Shakespeare stole some real wiccan rituals from a real coven to characterize the Weird Sisters and as a consequence of Shakespeare's insult to the coven, witches cursed the play forever.

You can find more specific information about the wiccan and the coven from these links.

  1. Very interesting. Yes, Macbeth has a long tradition of being a "cursed" play, and there have been many accidents and deaths associated with its performances. For this reason, actors and directors have developed some superstitions, such as not saying the title of the play, but calling it "The Scottish Play" and referring to characters by different names, while on stage. But I hadn't heard this version of the curse before!
