“If it weren't for greed, intolerance, hate, passion and murder, you would have no works of art, no great buildings, no medical science, no Mozart, no Van Gough, no Muppets and no Louis Armstrong.” ― Jasper Fforde, The Big Over Easy
It seems to me that what Jasper Fforde says is vulnerable to criticism. However, for the part of "greed", I am not sure if it really ends up with great results.
After reading ( and watching the scene which Macbeth kills Duncan cruelly :'( ), I really asked myself the question of "What is Lady Macbeth's problem?" as her greed results in the murder of Duncan inevitably. After coming home, I asked the same question to Google and I found a blog with the same title. You should also read this short passage at the link given below:
What was the Lady Macbeth's problem?
It ends with the words of "what Lady Macbeth searches for is a hero, not a husband". I think the blog is right at the point which she reveals the bad side of a person which causes Macbeth to turn into a cruel, greedy and self-absorbed person rather than kind and gentle one. Achilles might be a suitable husband for Lady Macbeth with his red blooded actions :)
An interesting view of Lady Macbeth. She has always fascinated audiences and is a very rich subject for psychological or even psycho-analytic study!
