Teacher mentioned about Islam's prohibition of painting in the class. I did a little research about it and found some interesting stuff. It turns out it is a big deal! A hadith states that once angel Gabriel did not enter Prophet's house because there was a painting in the house.

The reason is, people are NOT allowed to "imitate God in the act of his creation". Although there are some exceptions. Children and their mothers and teachers are allowed. Generally, it is allowed to draw things without soul or things that cannot THINK.
