Renaissance Humanism as the First Steps of Transhumanism

There was a time when men though they were bound by gods laws.  The enlightenment age broke  that idea, developing renaissance humanism, centering human and their power over themselves.  This inspired transhumanism in the new age.  We are not bound to our bodies, our lifecycles.  If there is an entity so powerful we can call it a god, it is the future of humanity alone and nothing more.  Humanity needs another enlightenment age to brake free of all the religious beliefs and divers its energy to develop itself.  Find more about Singularity here

  1. I don't agree, I believe ''the age of enlightenment'' broke the bounds which claimed to be created by God, by disproving the idea which states that people need a higher entity(which is God in this case) to live their lives meaningfully and virtuously. After the enlightenment, people realized that they don't need the God to be a good person because they already have ethics and morals to decide what is good/bad.

  2. Well, Kant wouldn't like your idea then :) God is a complete control mechanism and if we talking about "enlightenment age" made by God, representatives of god(church, priests etc.) should be directed by God himself. It wasn't the case, they overpressured people to have this complete control.
But I think enlightenment age didn't break the bounds completely it gave better understanding even concept of "god" in light of science and it is still developing.
